"Use the Altar to Upgrade the level of your Beasts with Shards."
Information[]
The Altar is the equivalent of the Training Ground for Beasts. Shards, collected from the Shard Vortex and multiplayer battles, are used to upgrade Beasts. Before you can upgrade a Beast however, you must first unlock it from a Beast Stone using Shards.

Appearance[]
The Altar is composed of five pillars. There are four small pillars on each corner with a large pillar in the center atop ascending steps. The pillars are all gray and made of stone with characters inscribed on each pillar. The inscription on the large pillar glows purple.
Inscription[]
On the large pillar is an ideograph which means "oni", or broader "supernatural creature". On each of the three visible small pillars is an ideograph which means "portal", "gate", or "door". Combination of these inscriptions may mean "portal/gateway/door for supernatural creatures".
Broken Altar[]
When you first start the game, your Altar is broken and cannot be used for upgrading your Beasts. It must be repaired before it can be used. At the cost of 5,000 Gold Coins and one available Architect you can repair the Altar to full functioning condition.Unless you were playing the game when it started.
Upgrading Beasts[]
Once the Altar has been repaired you may use it to upgrade unlocked Beasts. Only one Beast may be upgraded at once. The upgrade screen shows you the next achievable level of your Beasts and the cost to upgrade it in Shards. Clicking on a Beast will present you with the Beast's stats, Beast's abilities, upgrade time and an upgrade button. Beast skills do not gain a level each upgrade; they level up when your Beast reaches a certain level.
